About Research & Innovation Cell

1

Engineering research plays a very significant role in meeting national goals. As such Indian research needs to remain at world frontiers if it is to boost economic productivity and competitiveness, strengthen national security, improve human health, and achieve other national objectives in the next century.

2

Lloyd Institute of Engineering & Technology (LIET) prioritizes the comprehensive development of its students, recognizing the crucial role of research in bolstering their technical expertise while concurrently fostering holistic education. Since attaining autonomy, the institution has strategically designed its academic framework, notably incorporating Research Based Learning (RBL). This thoughtfully structured initiative provides graduates with a significant competitive edge through carefully curated activities. Demonstrating its deep understanding of the necessity to fortify the research landscape, LIET established a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) E-Cell in 2022.

This vital platform serves as an incubator for young, innovative minds, nurturing their ideas within a supportive ecosystem that facilitates growth and the realization of impactful outcomes. Complementing this, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell at LIET functions as an energetic springboard for aspiring student entrepreneurs. By cultivating a dynamic ecosystem through a range of influential activities, the cell empowers students through engaging seminars and practical workshops that impart essential skills encompassing ideation to intellectual property. Furthermore, LIET’s innovation-focused competitions serve as a showcase for ingenuity, providing participants with invaluable feedback to refine their concepts.

R&D Cell has a well-equipped Component Library. Students can issue components required to test their ideas. This particular initiative is fruitful to augment students' experimental skills with creative thinking. Every year, students are encouraged to take part in various Hackathon’s, MSME’s related events, and Ideathon’s organized by the Central Government, AICTE, various MNCs, and other industries. LIET students participate in Smart India Hackathon and receive prizes at various levels.

The LIET provides dedicated labs for students along with a mentoring facility to carry out the novel ingenious research. The LIET student team participated in the various National & International events every single session years.

LIET encourages students to participate in various competitions.

Faculty and students are encouraged to create Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and publish technical/research papers through various platforms, helping them engage in life-long learning.

Our faculty members are recipients of various grants from AICTE, IEEE, and DST, Government of India. They are actively involved in consultancy work with renowned industries and also provide training to corporate sectors and government departments.

The R&D Cell at LIET acts as a dynamic launchpad for student entrepreneurs, fostering a vibrant ecosystem through diverse, impactful activities. Engaging seminars and hands-on workshops equip students with vital skills, from ideation to IP. Our competitions showcase innovation, drawing valuable feedback. A strong alumni network provides crucial mentorship and guidance. We bridge academia and industry through collaborations, offering real-world exposure. The R&D Cell of LIET-LTBIF actively connects students with funding opportunities and provides a well-equipped pre-incubation center. This comprehensive support system has led to the remarkable success of innumerable registered student startups across various sectors.
